simplyNAD+ vs Research-Grade NAD+ Vials: Why That $39 Listing Is Not a Supplement
By the simplyNAD+ Research Desk · September 2026 · Every figure below was taken from the manufacturer’s own website or a major retailer’s label listing, and we say so when a number could not be verified.
Search "NAD+ supplements" and one of the sponsored results Google returned to us was a 100mg NAD+ vial from VAYN, listed at $39. It looks like a premium minimalist supplement. It is not a supplement at all, and this is the one comparison on our site where we are going to tell you not to buy the other product rather than argue about milligrams.
Read the vendor’s own disclaimer
VAYN’s site sells NAD+ alongside research peptides. Its own material states the products are intended solely for in-vitro laboratory research purposes and not for human consumption. That is the seller’s language, not ours.
Research-use-only chemicals are a legitimate category — laboratories need them. What they are not is food. They carry no Supplement Facts panel, no serving size, no dosing directions, and no requirement to be manufactured in a facility that follows dietary-supplement good manufacturing practice. There is no cost-per-serving to calculate because there is no serving.
Why this matters more than a price comparison

| Supplement Facts panel | Yes | None |
| Serving size / directions | One packet daily | None |
| Active | 600mg nicotinamide riboside, a precursor | 100mg NAD+ itself |
| Cost per day | $0.83 | Not applicable — no serving defined |
How to recognise the aisle you have wandered into
These listings show up in supplement searches because the search engine matches the words "NAD+" and a price, not the regulatory category. Signals that you are on a research-chemical site rather than a supplement one:
- Products sold in glass vials, described in mg per vial rather than per serving
- The words lyophilised or reconstitute
- Peptides in the same catalogue — tesamorelin, GHK-Cu, semaglutide analogues, anything ending in ‑tide or ‑relin
- A "for research use only" or "not for human consumption" line, usually in the footer or terms
- No Supplement Facts panel and no directions anywhere
If you see two or more of those, that product was never meant to be swallowed, and nobody has established a dose for a person.
The precursor point, separately
Even setting the category aside, 100mg of NAD+ is not equivalent to 100mg of a precursor. Intact oral NAD+ is broken down in the digestive tract before it reaches circulation — which is the whole reason ingredients such as nicotinamide riboside and NMN were developed. Every clinical trial that has shown a measurable rise in blood NAD+ used a precursor.
