It contains nicotinamide riboside, the smaller precursor that survives the gut, enters cells through nucleoside transporters, and raised blood NAD+ in the placebo-controlled human trials that measured it. The hydrogen malate salt keeps it stable in liquid until you tear the packet.

What the research actually shows.
These are peer-reviewed trials on nicotinamide riboside, the ingredient in every packet. They are not trials on simplyNAD+. We have not run our own, and we will say so until we have.
1,000 mg a day for six weeks, measured against placebo. 24 participants, randomised double-blind crossover.

Tested at 100, 300 and 1,000 mg a day. 140 participants, placebo-controlled. Levels reached steady state by week four.

In the trials run so far, nicotinamide riboside did not change body composition, insulin sensitivity or glucose tolerance, and did not measurably change mitochondrial respiration in muscle. The one result that has repeated across studies is a reduction in inflammatory markers in blood. A 2023 review in Science Advances concluded that oral NR has so far shown “few clinically relevant effects” beyond raising NAD+ itself.
600 mg per packet sits inside the 300–1,000 mg a day range used in the trials above. Raising blood NAD+ is what those trials measured. What a higher NAD+ level does for how you feel day to day is not settled science, and we are not going to pretend it is.
